How To Find Great Wine
Through U.S. Natural Wine
Importers & Distributors

For those of you living in the United States, below are some excellent natural wine importers and distributors.  Keep these in mind while you scour the shelves of your local wine shop (please don’t buy wine at the grocery store).

As U.S. law requires, the importer must be labeled on the back of every foreign wine bottle.  You can use this information to your advantage to make smarter buying decisions.  For more wine purchasing and label tips, head over to events and associations.

Nearly all I’ve suggested focus on low intervention, natural wines from small producers in Europe.  Once you’ve honed in on your preferences, styles and dislikes, one or more of these importers can guide you to your next favorite bottle.

Not all wines they represent are guaranteed to be natural, biodynamic, or organic, so be sure to inquire about your specific choices. If you can’t make it to a wine shop, check out our guide to where to buy natural wine online in the US, UK, and Europe.

U.S. Natural Wine Importers & Distributors

Kermit Lynch

Quite simply, Kermit is one of the original importers of natural wine before the category existed. Since 1972, Kermit and his team have been partnering with artisanal and sustainable French and Italian wines with incredible pedigree.  A venture that began as an eclectic wine shop in Northern California has evolved into a renowned portfolio of highly sought-after wines and loyal supporters across the country.

Louis/Dressner

If you see Louis/Dressner on the back of a bottle of wine, just buy it. The team behind the name carries on the careful selection and championing of European (and now Chilean) wines established by the founders in 1988.  Dressner represents some of the best Barolos, Burgundies, and esoteric wines available in the U.S. today. Their winemakers all share the same principles, including minimal intervention and manipulation, focusing on creating wines from healthy, unadulterated grapes.

Bobo Selections – T. Edward Wines

A very curated portfolio of dynamic natural wines from parent company T. Edward Wines. Bobo Selections features boutique wines that showcase the personality of their extremely passionate vignerons across France.

Jenny & Francois

An expanding natural wine group, Jenny & Francois have built a stellar portfolio of terroir-driven wines from Europe and the U.S. They import many boutique wines from many young producers who are pushing the limits of organic and biodynamic farming.

Bliss Imports

Another newcomer to the importing world, Bliss is carefully building a selection of organic and biodynamic wines from promising new producers around Europe and Chile.

Zev Rovine Selections

Zev has a great list of small natural producers, mainly located in France and Italy.  They also represent American winemakers and a few others throughout Europe, including Germany and Croatia.
